Alma 21:22

This verse says "...they might have the liberty of worshipping the Lord their God according to their desires, in whatsoever place they were in..." Doesn't that sound very similar to the 11th Article of Faith? "We claim the privilege of worshipping Almighty God according to the dictates of our own conscience and allow all men the same privilege. Let them worship how, where, or what they may." In our country we have the freedom of religion. It is a great blessing to be able to do what both that scripture and the 11th Article of Faith say. We should take advantage of that and attend our church meetings, pray, and study our scirptures since we can without oppsition. Others, like Daniel, would have loved to have freddom of religion! But even though he didn't, he still prayed, even though it meant being cast into a den of lions. I think we can all sacrifice a little bit of time each day to worship our God- we could have it a lot worse!

  1. You are so right! We don't always appreciate the religious freedoms we have. When I was growing up I knew people in my ward in Milwaukee who had gone to prison in communist East Germany just for being members of the church. They were persecuted by their government. We truly are blessed in this country.
